Improving services

PDSA cycles

Plan, Do, Study, Act cycles are a core component of Quality Improvement.  We provide Intermediate Lean Leader training which includes a supervised set of PDSA cycles to develop skills in managing change.  We have a 'Report Out' system where the result of such projects are reported.

Rapid Process Improvement Workshops

We use Rapid Process Improvement Workshops (RPIW) as a tool to effect change.  A RPIW has a Sponsor, Process Owner, Team Lead and Workshop lead.  There is defined Standard Work around the operation of such an event, which is preceded by a 12 week run-in period to prepare for the change and reporting on progress at set intervals over the subsequent year.  We have developed a set of over 80 RPIWs and have extensive experience in what makes such events successful.

A whole systems approach

Quality Improvement works best when it is widely owned by a whole organisation. There is a need for senior leadership from the very top of the organisation, clear understanding of concepts such as waste and a united determination to drive out waste and improve quality and safety.

There are opportunities to come and see our quality improvement work first hand.  If you are interested in taking part in a study tour please contact us.
